Are you buying a new car soon and thinking of getting it protected with a coating?

We know that your car dealership will be asking you to buy the paintwork protection from them and have it applied by their onsite valeter but we think that detailers offer a better deal on coatings and heres why....

Even though you are buying a new car, new cars still have defects on the bodywork. These can be from transport and dealership preparation.

These defects wont be removed by the dealership so the coating you have bought from them will be applied to unprepared paintwork. In essence your new car wont be looking its absolute best prior to being coated.

From experience the dealership coatings are often not very good value for money, rarely come with a guarantee and often dont stand the test of time.

However, a detailer will spend time fully decontaminating your new car, so as soon as they take receipt of your new pride and joy it will be safely hand washed to remove any iron fall out and tar. Swirl marks and defects will then be removed by machine polishing it to enhance the gloss. These processes will often take at least a day of preparation before the coating is even applied. Essentially the surface of your car will be the best it can be prior to application.

Detailers coatings will usually have a guarantee, so with each ceramic coating you can chose the level of protection from 12 months to lifetime. With that knowledge you will have the confidence that the coating you have paid for will perform for that period of time.

Scratch Heroes is the sister company to our already thriving detailing business called GleamPro Valeting & Detailing.

Both businesses are run by us and we are both very hands on! Stuart is a qualified car detailer & SMART repair technician and I have had a successful career in business administration and over the course of owning GleamPro have become a dab hand at valeting & detailing!

Our detailing business has steadily grown since 2018 when we hit the road in our first mobile van. We applied the simple ethos of providing a 5 star, reliable service to our clients and becuse we are passionate about cars, know our stuff and are honest and approchable thats what our clients love and thats why we have grown.

So with the success of GleamPro in the bag, we came up with some new ideas for growth and Scratch Heroes was born. (an obvious expansion to GleamPro). Once we secured the unit premises next door to GleamPro, our dream of a one stop shop became real and GleamPro & Scratch Heroes are now fully up and running in tandem, ready to offer you all your vehicle repair & restoration needs under one roof (so to speak)

We just wanted to share some thoughts on detailing with you……

There are loads of places around that will clean your car, we can definitely say that we are one of them but whilst we provide some of the more straightforward and affordable valeting services that’s not why we are in the detailing business.

We love cars of all shapes and sizes, we take pride in what we do but most of all we take vehicles old or new to the next level!

If you bring a new car to us for hand finishing, we follow a complex and time consuming set of detailing processes to correct the mistakes made in production. To make older vehicles look like new they go through a time consuming and complex set of detailing processes to correct the errors made through years of bad washing and care techniques, in other words it’s not a quick wash and vac that you get from us when you look at booking our detailing services!

We work incredibly hard at the attention to detail, restoring and protecting vehicles for the long term and making a permanent difference. All of that takes knowledge, time, patience and some of the best equipment available to carry out specialised work to a level and standard that you would expect from a detailer/perfectionist.

An example of this is our list of tasks that we carry out in a Ceramic Coating application, this can take up to 4 days and should help to put our points in to perspective for you.

· Deep clean exterior using a multi-step wash & decontamination process to remove tar, grit, iron particles and other invisible nasties that are lurking on your paintwork

· 1,2 or 3 stage paint correction to remove swirls marks, light scratches and bird dropping stains

· Removal of wheels to clean and ceramic coat them also allowing access to the callipers then re fit to manufacturers torque settings

· Exterior trim restoration & coating

· Detailed interior valet & ceramic protection

· Exterior Ceramic Coating application with various stages to application (depending on package selected)

Our detailing packages do cost more, of course they will!! this is not a coveyor belt of cars, a drive through car wash or mechanical fast wash & vac,we are skilled detailers, perfectionists who really care about your car and who love what we do!

As we're currently in lockdown I though what better time to get revamping our website!

Now showing more of the services we offer as well as our brand new offering of Ceramic Pro paint protection coating!

We're very excited here to re-open once we're all set free and allowed to roam once again.

We've lots more plans that have been delayed due to the lockdown so more exciting news will be on the way.
